Director of CSM Care

Hi,

My name is Corey Marrum. I am 26 years old, and I am the Director of CSM Care (Disability Services).

My interest are very broad. I enjoy, Chess, Card sleight of hand, being active, anything Nerdy, such as Yu Gi Oh, Magic the Gathering, and any card game. Reading, learning, Gaming, spending time with loved ones.

I have been heavily interested in disability and support work for quite a long time, as I spent the majority of my teenage years helping to care for my younger sister who had severe epilepsy.

Personal experiences with disability support work and working for Disability companies have shaped my career path and passion in this field. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their families.

Caring for a sibling with epilepsy has a profound impact on an individual's life. It demands constant alertness, empathy, and resilience while affecting various aspects such as academics and social life. Despite the challenges, this experience has provided me with valuable life lessons and a deep passion for disability support work.

My sister gave me invaluable insights into the daily struggles that people with disabilities endure and the importance of providing comprehensive support systems. These experiences ignited a desire within me to make a difference in the lives of others facing difficult challengers.

Unfortunately, my sister's passing marked the end of one chapter, but opened another, as I became heavily involved in caring for my three nephews with varying degrees of autism. Although different from epilepsy, autism presented its unique set of challenges requiring adaptability and flexibility in caregiving approaches.

Throughout my life, I have had numerous personal experiences with Disability support work, that have shaped me into the Support worker I am today.  Witnessing my sister's daily struggles and the impact it had on our family ignited a deep sense of empathy within me and sparked my interest in disability support work. This experience allowed me to develop a profound understanding of their unique needs, as well as the importance of compassion and patience in providing effective support.

As the director of CSM Care, I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. 

My Qualifications.

-Cert IV in Disability

-Cert IV in Mental Health

-Diploma of Counselling

-Cert IV in Personal Training.

-First Aid
